App Privacy Policy - GymViz

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Nader Grebe ("we", "our", or "us") handles information in connection with the GymViz app ("App") for iPhone and Apple Watch.

We take your privacy seriously. GymViz is designed so that your personal data stays on your device and in your personal iCloud account. We do not operate external servers, and we do not collect, store, or process your personal data on our own infrastructure.

3. Data We Process

3.1 Workout & Training Data

The App stores all workout data you enter — including exercises, sets, repetitions, weights, training plans, session history, and body weight entries. This data is stored locally on your device. This data never leaves your personal Apple ecosystem. We have no access to it.

3.2 Health Data (Apple HealthKit)

If you grant permission, the App reads and writes the following data from and to Apple Health (HealthKit):

Data read from Apple Health:
• Body weight
• Heart rate (during workouts, via Apple Watch)
• Active calories burned
• Workouts / Training sessions

Data written to Apple Health:
• Body weight (manually entered by you)
• Active calories burned (during workouts)
• Workouts / Training sessions (after a completed workout)

The HealthKit integration is entirely optional. You can use the App without granting HealthKit access. HealthKit data is processed exclusively on your device and is stored in the Apple Health app. HealthKit data is never transmitted to us or to any third party.

We do not use HealthKit data for advertising, marketing, data-mining, or any purpose other than displaying your training statistics, progress, and history within the App. HealthKit data is never sold, shared with third parties, or stored on our servers.

You can withdraw HealthKit access at any time under:
Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → GymViz

3.3 Calendar Data

If you grant permission, the App adds your planned training days to your Apple Calendar. This is optional and can be disabled at any time in the App settings. We have no access to your calendar data.

3.5 Technical Diagnostics

If you choose to send a diagnostic report via the in-app support feature, the report is transmitted to us by email. This report contains app log data from the last 24 hours and no personal health or training data unless specifically included by you. You decide whether to send a report, and you can review its contents before sending.

4. Purpose and Legal Basis for Processing

All data processed by the App is used solely to provide the App's core functionality. Specifically:

• Workout and training data is used to display your history, statistics, and progress.
• Health data is used to enrich training statistics with heart rate and calorie information and to write completed workouts back to Apple Health.
• Calendar data is used to display training days in your personal calendar.
• Profile data is used to personalize your in-app experience.

The legal basis for processing is the performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), as processing is necessary to provide the App's features you have requested. Where data processing is based on your explicit permission (HealthKit, Calendar), the legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you may withdraw at any time via your device settings.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored locally on your device and. We do not operate any servers or databases that store your personal data. We have no technical access to the data you enter in the App.

HealthKit data is stored exclusively within the Apple Health app on your device and is not stored in iCloud by GymViz.

6. Third-Party Services

The App integrates exclusively with Apple's own services:

• Apple HealthKit – for optional health data exchange
• Apple Calendar (EventKit) – for optional calendar integration

7. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise share your personal data with third parties. We do not use any third-party analytics tools, advertising networks, or crash reporting services.

8. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as you use the App and have it installed on your device. You can delete all App data at any time by using the "Reset App" function within the App settings, or by deleting the App from your device. Deleting the App removes all locally stored data. HealthKit data written by GymViz can be managed and deleted directly in the Apple Health app.

9. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR) – You can request information about what data we process about you.
• Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR) – You can correct inaccurate data directly within the App.
• Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR) – You can delete your data at any time via the App's reset function or by deleting the App.
• Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) – You may request the restriction of processing of your personal data.
• Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR) – You may request a copy of your data in a structured, machine-readable format. The App provides a built-in CSV export function for your workout data.
• Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR) – You may object to the processing of your personal data.
• Right to withdraw consent (Art. 7(3) GDPR) – Where processing is based on consent (HealthKit, Calendar), you may withdraw it at any time in your device settings under Privacy & Security.
• Right to lodge a complaint (Art. 77 GDPR) – You have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the EU Member State of your habitual residence, place of work, or place of the alleged infringement.

Since we do not collect or store personal data on our own servers, most data access and deletion requests can be fulfilled by you directly through the App and your iOS device settings.

10. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly process personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove such information.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be made available within the App and on our website at https://valinorlabs.de/privacy-policy-app-gymviz. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
